Sometimes the journey to becoming a parent is less than magical. Fertility challenges and miscarriages can be heartbreaking hurdles to overcome. Or perhaps your pregnancy was ideal, but labor and delivery went completely off your birth plan. Or maybe you’re struggling to figure out who you are now that you’re also a parent.

My personal experience with miscarriages prompted my training and certification as a perinatal mental health professional. It is now my honor to provide support as you process and explore the obstacles preventing you from experiencing the best version of parenthood for yourself and your family. We’ll talk about how to gain the self awareness needed to identify your needs and communication strategies to assist you in advocating for these needs with loved ones.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am trained and certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional by Postpartum Support International. I also have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.  In addition to perinatal mental health, I also enjoy working with adults through various life changes, depression, anxiety, strengthening relationships, and working through trauma, grief and loss.

With over 17 years of experience in the mental health field, I provide compassionate, individualized care to clients navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. My clinical areas of expertise include trauma-informed care, complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship conflict, self-esteem, social-emotional learning, and life skills development.

In addition to my clinical work, I bring over two decades of experience serving at-risk youth and families, particularly those involved with child protective services, foster care, adoption, children of immigrants, as well as individuals impacted by health disparities and systemic barriers. I have worked extensively with individuals and children who are healing from the long-term effects of generational, transgenerational, and systemic traumas.

My approach is grounded in fairness, empathy, and a deep respect for the diverse life experiences of my clients. I believe that every individual deserves a safe and supportive environment where they can be seen, heard, and empowered to heal. I draw from inclusive, culturally responsive practices to ensure that each person I work with feels valued regardless of their background or beliefs.

I also incorporate research at the intersection of religion and mental health for clients who find meaning in faith-based frameworks, and I offer strengths-based guidance to help individuals thrive emotionally, mentally, and socially.

I am honored to serve all communities and remain committed to creating a space where healing, growth, and resilience are possible for everyone.
